Jame 2:15-16
Suppose you see a brother or sister
who has no food or clothing,
and you say,
"Good-bye and have a good day;
stay warm and eat well"
- but then you don't give that person any food or clothing.
What good does that do?

James 5:4
Look here, you rich people:
Weep and groan with anguish
because of all the terrible troubles ahead of you.
...
For listen!
Hear the cries of the field workers
whom you have cheated of their pay.
The wages you held back cry out against you.
The cries of those who harvest your fields
have reached the ears of the Lord of Heaven's Armies.
...
You have fattened yourselves for the day of slaughter.
You have condemned and killed innocent people,
who do not resist you.

Hebrews 4:14-16
Therefore,
since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens,
Jesus the Son of God,
let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.
For we do not have a high priest
who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses,
but we have one who has been tempted in every way,
just as we are --
yet was without sin.
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence,
so that we may receive mercy
and find grace to help us in our time of need.

As you endure this divine discipline,
remember that God is treating you as his own children.
Whoever heard of a child who was never disciplined?
